Bespoke joinery · est. 2014
Hartland is a four-person workshop on the edge of the Marlborough Downs, building kitchens and built-in joinery for architects and considered private clients. Every piece is drawn here, made here, fitted here. We take on twelve projects a year.
Working with:
Selected work
View all 48 projects →Kitchen + utility · Oak frame, brushed brass, integrated wine store.

Materials
Everything is sourced from named cooperatives. We can show you the kiln your timber came out of, the week it left.
Quarter-sawn, FSC-certified, kiln-dried for two summers.
From within 80 miles. Painted or limed, never stained.
American black, sourced from a single Indiana cooperative.
Rippled where we can find it. Best in light-flooded rooms.
The workshop
The workshop sits in an old grain barn outside Pewsey. We've been there since 2018. The team is four: Will (founder), Marie (workshop lead), Joe and Aanya. Every piece has all four of our hands on it before it leaves.
We don't subcontract. We don't draft outside. If the project's running long, we tell you. If it's running early — which it rarely does — we tell you that too. The site fit is always done by the same two people who built the work.
Lead times are currently fourteen weeks from sign-off. We're booked through to late November.
