Romorantin

Stéphane Tessier

Lemon zest · wet flint · chamomile

The Loire grape almost no-one grows. Stéphane farms 1.2 hectares and presses straight to old barrel. Lemon zest, wet flint, chamomile on the finish — a quiet, serious wine.

About the producer

Romorantin is one of two grapes still grown in Cour-Cheverny — a tiny appellation between Tours and Orléans. Stéphane is one of perhaps a dozen growers left who make it without compromise.
